Anne,
It is 14 weeks since I began your diet, and I've lost 25 pounds. My goal
was 30 pounds so I only have 5 pounds more to go. My girls keep asking
me "What's the first thing you are going to have when you meet your
goal and go off your diet?" Well, I'm not going "off my diet."
I don't have a diet. What I have is a new way of eating -- a new, healthier
habit and attitude regarding food. Now that I'm in the "home stretch,"
I've been thinking about setting a new goal. I began at 165 pounds, I'm
now at 140. My goal was 135 pounds, but I'm thinking about setting a new
goal of 130. Gosh, I can hardly believe it (and just in time for summer!).
I've also lost 3 to 3 1/2 inches off each of my measurements. Just wanted
to keep you informed of my progress and especially to take this opportunity
to again thank you for your encouragement. Talk to you soon.

Hi Anne,
Just a quick update on my progress so far with your diet. It has now been
11 weeks and I have shed 20 pounds. The realization of just how much weight
this is came when I grabbed two 10 pound bags of potatoes and jumped on
the scales. Wow! I was carrying that much extra baggage?

Just wanted to send my first update. After 3 wks following your sensible
guidelines, My weight went down from 202 lbs. to 194 lbs. and I feel much
better already! Calories averaging about 1400 per day. I also do two days
of weight/resistance training for 40-min. sessions and 3 days of step
aerobics or power walking for 50-min. sessions, plus I dance whenever
I can! I have cut out alcohol completely; other than that I just balance
things out nutritionally, keeping track of everything I eat or drink.
I think I can do this. I just wanted to share this good news with you.

It has been about two months...just under that I have been following your
program now. I am so amazed to say that it is working! I must admit, it
is slow, but definitely steady.It is so amazing because it made me realize
what a horrible eater I was and how I was doing so many things wrong.
I have had definite bad days and slip ups, which have delayed my progress
a little, but the slip up advice you had on your program stayed in the
back of my mind and I would just get back on track as fast as I could.
In the past my "diet" would consist of a sleeve of crackers,
and I am not kidding or exaggerating. Now I incorporate lots of good whole
grains, lean meat, fruits and vegatables, I eat every hour or 2 hours
and I feel so much better. I have not really been exercising though, and
I know that would help me speed things up a little. I have about 11 lbs
to go...hopeful by summer I will get there with this plan. I don't really
have questions this time around, I just want to say thank you for your
site and thank you for being there to help educate people like me on proper
nutrition.... I wish you could help me find a man too!!!!(Just kidding)

I emailed you last week about wanting to eat when I feel stressed and
today I had something come up at work which was very stressful. The amazing
thing was that I stopped myself from heading for food. Is there any scientific
formulas in this diet that affect my saiety and blood sugars from dipping
too low? I'm amazed at how much I can eat on this program and still lose
weight. One of my absolute favorite things to eat is birthday cake with
that sweet sickening frosting. We had some at our preschool today and
I found it was no problem to resist....and today of all days when the

Just a note to thank you for your diet. I don't have any questions; I
just thought you might like to hear another success story. I believed
I could not lose weight, being 61 years old and not active at all. And
except for all that evening snacking, I thought I ate pretty well. I had
decided to try a healthy, smart diet and was thrilled to find yours. Exactly
what I wanted and needed. Like many others, I had tried and failed over
and over. But this is the perfect diet, I think. Normal, everyday food,
balanced, healthy. There have been some setbacks, of course. A time last
fall when life was too hectic and stressful. I stopped for a month and
a half. And then later, my friend, a lively 75, got married in December.
I spent a lot of time with her travelling, shopping, looking for the room
for that special first night, etc. I gained 3 pounds. And lost it. I was
177 pounds when I started. I am now 155. I hope to lose a bit more. Ten
pounds or so. And I am sure I can do it. I am looking forward to the summer
clothes coming into the stores and a gigantic shopping spree. I have become
more active. Your diet was extremely encouraging, and taught me how to
eat. I am looking and feeling so much better. Healthwise I know I will

I've lost 13 lbs!!!!! I haven't weighed this little since before my daughter
was born. It has given me so much confidence and I'm sure I can reach
my goal weight of 105lbs. (I now weigh 113lbs) I'm really enjoying doing
all the cooking as well as it means we're eating much more adventurously
than normal. Sunday dinner was an eye opener - my husband remarked that
his potatoes weren't as "soggy" as usual and the kids ate theirs
- just shows you doesn't it?! Favourite recipe so far was the goulash.

I don't know if this email will be read by Anne Collins or not but I wanted
to send my thanks for your wonderful suggestions. I have lost 13 pounds
since November (I have gone from 138 pounds to 125 pounds!) and my husband
has lost 13 pounds since December. We are eating much healthier now and
our children are getting healthier snacks now. We have been able to do
this without really being super strict. We put our own twist on the diet
to make it suitable to our family. We take the weekends off, that way
we don't feel deprived and feel free to eat some junk without feeling
guilty, We don't go hog wild on the weekends either. We actually crave
the healthier things over the junk food. My husband says that I have "ruined"
his taste buds! Also, for me, counting my calories has been a good thing.
I can actually see how much more I can eat just by making healthier choices.
Its a real incentive for me to see how many more calories I can use after
each meal - and usually its alot! I have tried diets on and off just to
lose a couple of pounds and have never been able to last a day on them
because I felt starved. I have lost more than I originally set out to
and I am not starved with the Anne Collins Diet. We have been able to
lose weight without exercise. Now my husband and I have agreed to work
out together when our boys go to bed. This diet is a great incentive to
live healthier! Thanks so much!

I started your plan as of five weeks ago and it has been working great.
I lost 7lbs the first week, 4lbs the second, 2lbs the third, 3lbs the
fourth, and 2lbs this week for a total of 18lbs. I started at 207lbs and
am down to 189lbs. I still want to lose 9lbs. I havent been able
to follow your plan exactly because with work I have to go out to eat

Not a question but a comment. After trying "them all" I have
lost 6 pounds in 8 days. I was overwhelmed when I got on the scale a Lifetime
Fitness and saw the results. I normally asked that they calibrate their
scales!!!. They inturn indicated that the error was approximately 20 pounds

Hello Anne,
... I am a doctor and bought your British diet plan about a week ago and
have been religiously sticking to it. I was 12 stone 10 and have now come
down to 12 stone 5 - in about a week! Cutting out all the sweets etc was
tough, but it made me realise just how much of that stuff I was munching
on a day to day basis. I haven't done any more exercise than normal but
already I feel better - presumably because I don't feel "full"
all the time. Thanks again - I just hope I can get my weight down to about
147 pounds (apparently my ideal weight). By the way - I am a man!
